Taking photos of an elopement is always special but taking photos of your friend/old roommate/coworker takes the experience to a whole notha’ level!

I met Angela and Andre in Santa Barbara at the Ganna Walska Lotusland Botanic Garden for their last minute elopement with their family. They planned their elopement so quickly, they skipped their engagement entirely. So when Andre called me to plan an engagement a few hours before their ceremony, I was stoked to capture the moment. Talk about the shortest engagement - ever.

I’ve never heard of this hidden gem until they asked me to shoot their elopement and - holy shit - this place was beyond anything I could imagine. I see why Katy Perry raves about it so often! Andre’s mother created the landscaping for the Japanese Garden so being there with them felt extra special. We barley got through half of the property but if you were short on time, I’d recommend the main house, Japanese garden, cactus garden and lemon row!
